Islamic Medical Association

The Islamic Medical Association (IMA) at the UNC School of Medicine is a student-run organization that strives to represent Muslim students at UNC, foster campus and community-wide engagement with Islam and Muslims, and provide Muslim students with a community for both academic and spiritual support.

UNC Chapel Hill's Islamic Medical Association is open to both undergraduate and graduate student's interested in careers in healthcare. Our board members include liaisons from the schools of medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry.

Applications are currently open for the 2023-2024 school year. Positions begin in the late fall and run for a whole year. Applications can be completed online on this website.

Jummah prayer is held weekly every Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the John M. Reeves All Faiths Chapel. This is located on the first floor of memorial hospital and can be easier found using the UNC Health app. Congregation is open to anyone and people are encouraged to lead when they can.

The Islamic Medical Association exists to serve the muslim community in and around Chapel Hill. Our events aim to fulfill our core values and ideals in building community, performing outreach, representing muslims, and acting in service of others. Please contact us if you have any event ideas or if you have feedback regarding events that we have hosted.
